The Boston Tax Help Coalition’s asset building program, the Financial Check-Up, was conducted at 8 tax sites in 2015. Over 2700 tax clients were seen by volunteer Financial Guides and offered the opportunities to see their TransUnion credit report with FICO score, sign up for a Financial Coaching program, receive information on purchasing Savings bonds and information on organizations that could assist with consumer and student loan debt etc. We asked each of these clients for their contact information to enable us to survey them later in the year when we evaluate our services. 155 clients responded to this survey and their contributions were very important to the Coalition’s efforts to adapt and improve on what we do. A raffle prize of $25.00 per 20 participants was offered as an incentive to encourage responses. The drawing was held in our offices by Coalition staff and all winners have been notified.
